AWS Transfer Family and Data-Sync: Moving Files the Right Way Without Touching the Client
There is a very common requirement that comes up in real production environments. A customer wants to upload files directly into your S3 bucket from their laptop, without having any AWS account, without installing the AWS CLI, and without writing a single line of code on their end. They just want a familiar tool they can open, drag and drop files, and walk away. That is exactly the problem AWS Transfer Family was built to solve. And then there is a second requirement that comes up just as often. You have data sitting in S3 and someone needs that same data synced over to EFS. Doing this manually with EC2 and CLI scripts is messy. AWS DataSync handles it cleanly. Let us go through both of these services the same way they come up in real projects, starting with the requirement, figuring out the architecture, and then walking through the setup.
